my car accident

the day i got hit by a car when riding down the road and the days to follow...Well, it was the same as any other day that i would go out riding with my friends. but on this day it wasnt. on monday, april 7, 2008 i stopped at my friends house first(mitchell merritt) and we talked about stuff at his place for a while. anyways, we left his place to go meet up with a few other peeps in "downtown" fall river. about 5 or 10 minutes of riding down the road, i went to cross to the left side to get onto the sidewalk. i looked and didnt see any cars but i waited for about 5 seconds until i went to cross. to make things worse mitchell was riding behind me and the car was going about 70 km/h. as soon as the car hit me i was out and felt absolutely nothing, and that was it for me til the next day. as soon as i turned to cross the road the car was like 10 feet behind me and it hit me right on.. i went up onto the hood, over the windshield and roof (crumpled them) and flew about 10 feet in the air, landed on the road and slid into the ditch. when i was laying in the ditch he told me i was just telling him to get me the f*ck out(saying it the best i could).

I woke up for only a few seconds when i was in the ambulance on the way to the QEII. i was unconscious for the rest of the evening and all night. i woke up sometime the next day in a bit of pain but not so much to bother me. after they did x-rays for the first time they suspected i had a fractured hip and shoulder bones. the other injuries i had were minor bleeding in the back of my brain, a concussion, road rash on my back and right arm, and a badly bruised right ankle. later after more x-rays they found out i had no fractures. i stayed in the hospital for two nights, just getting regular check ups to see how i was doing, and appearantly i was progressing amazingly well. i was able to leave at about 6:00 pm on the 9th with the only thing that was bothering me was the road rash on my back and my ankle. other then all that, i am one lucky guy i must say.

my bike on the other hand is a different story. i twisted the frame a few inches to the left right infront of the seat tube, and twisted the bars pretty bad too. and since mitchell just got a new frame about a week ago he gave me his old one(dk cleveland) its not bad for what it is i think but when i get money im either going to get a fit signature frame or an eastern frame.

so yea, thats my story about me getting hit by a car for the first, and hopefully last time, of my life. ride safe! and dont get hit be any f*cking cars guys!
